February 1, 2019

Today, Lisa Thompson, Minister of Education, notified the Thames Valley District School Board of approval to proceed with a proposed capital project at the Kettle Creek Public School in Port Stanley, Ontario.

“Our government is committed to providing students with high-quality learning environments that support student success,” said Minister Thompson. “This addition and renovation will ensure Port Stanley has the right supports in place to accommodate the needs of the community.”

The project includes:

• An addition to accommodate a new school library;
• Retrofits to create two new classrooms; and
• Renovations to improve existing school conditions.
“I’m proud our government continues to invest in the future of growing communities like Port Stanley,” added Jeff Yurek, MPP for Elgin–Middlesex–London. “This project will ensure that Kettle Creek Public School can best serve students, families and the community for many years to come.”

The Ministry of Education has provided school boards with $1.4B in school renewal and condition improvement funding for the 2018-19 school year. Through this funding the Thames Valley District School Board will receive over $50 million this year.
